The position is a remote Engineering Team Lead role with occasional quarterly travel to Toronto, aimed at shaping engineering culture and partnering with the Engineering Manager and product teams on ScriptRunner for Confluence Cloud. You will lead a team practicing continuous delivery, mentor engineers, grow the team using the development framework, and value autonomy, mastery, practice, doing the right thing, and paying down technical debt. As the most senior engineer, you'll facilitate solution design, build on team knowledge, and collaborate with other engineering teams for input. The leadership responsibilities include providing a platform for developers, assisting with priority setting, delivering updates to stakeholders, and ensuring the team has the right tools, technology, and freedom to deliver and innovate, while following agile processes. The role is an Atlassian Technical Consultant who helps customers maximize value from Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) and related tools such as Slack by enabling integrations, automation, and efficiency. Responsibilities include providing expert guidance and solution design, hands-on product setup, migrations, upgrades, performance tuning, and ongoing knowledge maintenance of the Atlassian suite and related systems. The role also covers pre-sales activities—solving approach, scope definition, estimates, and proposals—along with requirement analysis and regular stakeholder communication, plus internal knowledge sharing and client-site travel. Delivery duties involve installations, upgrades, migrations of Atlassian applications, custom solution design (workflows, plugins/scripts, configurations), and scripting in Groovy and Python. Additional work includes database administration and querying, web integration via Rest APIs, system administration (Linux/Windows) for application servers, and continuing improvements.

The QA/Test Automation Engineer will design, implement, and evolve automated testing frameworks using Selenium for client projects and act as a remote QA expert on partially outsourced teams to ensure high software quality and reliability. The role focuses on building, executing, and maintaining automated test suites and collaborating with internal developers and product teams to integrate testing into deployment pipelines. Responsibilities include automation development, defect tracking with detailed logs and reproduction steps across embedded software, backend, and system integrations, and establishing and improving software quality processes and best practices. It requires defining testing strategies across the full software development lifecycle, guidelines for test case design/coverage/traceability/documentation, driving test automation strategy and CI/CD integration, and familiarity with code generation tools. Additional duties include defect management and root cause analysis processes, continuous improvement loops, planning for system/simulation/hardware-in-the-loop environments when needed, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and cybersecurity requirements.
