Remote-first with an optional Toronto office, requiring GTA-based candidates for occasional in-person needs, the role focuses on shaping engineering culture while working with an Engineering Manager and Product team on the ScriptRunner for Confluence Cloud product. As Engineering Team Lead, you’ll lead a team practicing continuous delivery, grow and mentor engineers, and serve as the most senior engineer to facilitate solution design and coordinate input from other teams. You’ll value autonomy, mastery, practice, doing the right thing, and paying down technical debt. Key responsibilities include providing a platform for developers, assisting with product prioritization, delivering updates to stakeholders, and ensuring the team has the tools and freedom to deliver and innovate within agile processes. You’ll also handle people management—hiring/onboarding, mentoring, setting objectives and development plans, fostering collaboration, and aligning with product and business priorities—alongside engineering work such as designing, writing, testing solutions, conducting code reviews, responding to incidents, and assisting with support escalations.
