As a Senior Security Engineer on GitLab’s Security Incident Response Team (SIRT), you will defend GitLab.com in a 24/7 global on-call model, lead end-to-end incidents from detection to recovery, and scale security operations through automation and AI-driven workflows.
You’ll coordinate high-severity incident responses, prepare executive communications, conduct complex cloud DFIR investigations, partner with Signals Engineering to design detections, build runbooks, perform post-incident RCA, and mentor other engineers to raise incident response maturity.
Qualifications include strong cloud-first incident response experience, hands-on GitLab usage in security/engineering, SIEM/EDR/detection engineering, AWS and GCP familiarity, threat intelligence and MITRE ATT&CK knowledge, automation skills (Python, SOAR), and an interest in applying AI/ML to detection and response.
