The Senior Security Engineer on the Infrastructure Security Team will secure GitLab’s public cloud infrastructure for SaaS and Self-Managed offerings, leading cross-team initiatives from design to delivery and turning security needs into scalable solutions. Responsibilities include implementing security for cloud, container, and orchestration platforms; conducting security reviews and risk assessments; developing secure patterns and reference implementations; identifying systemic gaps and driving remediation; integrating security into deployment pipelines; mentoring engineers; and shaping the technical roadmap. Qualifications cover extensive cloud security experience (AWS/GCP/Azure), proficiency in Go/Python/Ruby, deep knowledge of container/Kubernetes security, and IaC security with policy-as-code; experience leading multi-team initiatives and strong communication skills are essential, with AI-automation interest as a plus and bonuses for high-reliability domains and regulatory frameworks.
