Overview

  • The Renewals job family delivers to an essential moment in the customer journey, ensuring we can continue to deliver value and business outcomes by specializing in customer retention. In collaboration with sales, channel partners, customer success, and sales operations, this team will focus on successfully renewing customer subscriptions while providing a seamless customer experience. The role aims to deliver predictable and efficient renewals through a proactive management of the customers lifecycle.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with GitLab Account Executives, Customer Success Managers and extended team members to maintain and expand customer adoption in the US Public Sector & SLED Business 
  • Leveraging a renewal lifecycle  framework, you will focus on seeking, mitigating and forecasting renewal risk. All while building rapport with customers via phone conversations and professional email correspondence.
  • Create and manage quoting process  in SalesForce, and ensure the operational workflow is completed through the Public Sector distributor and channel partners
  • Manage high level of daily outbound and inbound communications and activities with a laser focus on driving on time customer renewals to prevent contractual gaps from outreach, quote to final procurement
  • Escalate customer questions and issues to the appropriate support teams and oversee the project through to conclusion
  • Accurately forecast opportunities via our SalesForce reports
  • Ensure customer issues are acknowledged and resolved within 24 hours

What you'll bring

  • 3+ years of experience in SaaS Renewal, ensuring timeliness and customer satisfaction
  • Advanced proficiency in operating Salesforce (SFDC) for renewal tracking, customer interactions, and forecasting
  • Experience in the US Public Sector preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

The Enterprise Sales department is part of GitLab Sales and includes both Large and Public Sector sales teams. An overview of this role

As a Site Reliability Engineer at GitLab, you are responsible for keeping all user-facing services and other GitLab production systems running smoothly. Our SREs are a blend of pragmatic operators and software craftspeople that apply sound engineering principles, operational discipline, and mature automation to our operating environments and the GitLab codebase.

As an SRE within the Environment Automation specialization, you primarily focus on operating a large number of GitLab environments, through automating all workflows - from provisioning new environments to daily operating tasks. This is the main difference between Environment Automation SRE and other SRE’s at GitLab; your day to day will be occupied by automation tasks of a large number of GitLab environments (and the environments used by GitLab), and operational tasks across many environments.

Some examples of the projects you could work on:

  • The automation used to operate a large number of GitLab environments.
  • Creating deployment packages of GitLab such as, GitLab Helm Chart, omnibus-gitlab, etc.
  • Building Dedicated Gitlab setups using infrastructure as code automation with Ansible and Terraform and integrate with Cloud Native services from cloud providers (e.g GCP, AWS)
  • Building Tools to orchestrate infrastructure as code workloads.
  • Deploy and operate microservices on top of Kubernetes.
  • Working on the GitLab observability stack (e.g. ELK, Prometheus).

An Overview of This Role

The Security Team is responsible for the internal security of GitLab, GitLab.com services, and actively contribute to the security of the open source and enterprise editions of the GitLab product.  Security Engineers engage with partner teams across GitLab to solve common goals and encourage good security practices.

Security Operations Engineers are the firefighters of the GitLab Security Team. As a Security Engineer in Operations focusing on security log engineering, your daily duties will include log analysis, log collection and filtering, tooling and automation development, as well as contributing to strategic improvements to the GitLab products and GitLab.com services. Successful Security Engineers thrive in high-stress environments and can think like both an attacker and defender, have the ability to engage with and mentor more junior Security Engineers, and can help come up with proactive and preventative security measures to keep GitLab and its user’s data safe.

 

What you'll do

  • Lead the architectural direction, administration, maintenance, documentation, and oversight of the Security information and event management (SIEM) solution.
  • Create and maintain integrations and solutions for the log collection, aggregation, indexing, search, alerting
  • Build and maintain Fluentd based log filtering pipelines.
  • Manage implementation, enhancement and adoption of the solutions built by the team into operations.
  • Utilize log ingestion platform for security analytics and identification of tactics, techniques and patterns of attackers.
  • Collect and review security logs from systems including Cloud Providers, GitLab, OS, G-Suite, OKTA, IDS, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to creation of runbooks and development of automation to support these processes.
  • Manage and forecast log ingestion capacity and costs.

  • Build security tools that enable the GitLab Security Team to operate at speed and scale.

What you'll bring

  • At least 5 years of technical experience in information security with a focus on security log analysis, incident response, SOC or security engineering. 
  • At least 5 years experience administering Splunk SIEM Technologies; in addition, Devo expertise preferred.
  • Experience with log analysis systems.
  • Engineer, not an analyst mindset.
  • At least 3 years of technical experience knowledge of Linux tools/architecture and logging systems.
  • At least 5 years experience with log identification and analysis within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or AWS.
  • Experience with one or more programming languages  (Ruby on Rails or Python).
  • Experience deploying and maintaining log filtering technologies such as Fluentd.

What you'll do
