The Role:

The Software Engineer role is focused on driving the success of our highly technical user base of developers and technologists at 100k+ organizations worldwide through product innovation. In this role, you'll work alongside our global team of elite developers to design and build innovative product features for our Git productivity and collaboration tools.

What you'll bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Development experience with Javascript/TypeScript: Node.js, build and bundling tools such as Webpack and esbuild
  • Experience working with Agile teams
  • Experience with UI Front-End development in Javascript and proficiency in React.js, Node.js and Redux.js
  • Understanding of Database Development: As a full-stack software engineer, you might be expected to interface with NoSQL database systems such as MongoDB and Redis
  • Experience with Dev Tools: Expertise with Git, GitHub, GitKraken, Docker, or Jenkins is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish

In this role, you will collaborate with our product team to craft beautiful, innovative, user experiences with a focus on usability, cohesiveness and accessibility, while ensuring modularity and performance in code. You’ll collaborate with back-end engineers to define and refine data models and APIs to ensure efficiency, security, and reliability.   • 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on front-end development
  • Deep understanding of modern web application architectures and design patterns, along with their tradeoffs
  • Expertise in the web platform: HTML, CSS, DOM, and Web APIs
  • Experience building modular, composable UI components with libraries like React or Vue, or Web Components (Lit, FAST)
  • Highly proficient with Javascript/TypeScript including ES6, Node.js, and NPM or Yarn
  • Strong history of collaborating with designers and providing input on the user experience
  • Experience migrating to new technologies as the web evolves
  • Understanding of accessibility practices (WCAG, WAI-ARIA)
  • Proficient with front-end tooling such as CSS processors (LESS, SASS, or PostCSS), bundling tools (Webpack and esbuild), and CI/CD automation
  • Experience with Git and GitHub


Bonus points:

  • Experience building shared component libraries and/or design systems
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools like D3
  • Experience with Figma
  • Experience with localization and internationalization
  • Experience with Electron
